CooliBlade Journey to the German Market

The first interaction with CooliBlade occurred in late 2021, during a meeting with one of the co-founders, Janne Suhonen. We explored his outlook for CooliBlade’s technology and market growth, focusing on creating ground-breaking products using VTT’s innovation and planning for international expansion. Given my previous experiences with international ventures, I quickly grasped the challenges and opportunities in introducing CooliBlade into new markets. The company’s visionary NEOcore cooling technology and enthusiastic team intrigued me, prompting our collaboration on sales and business development in Germany in Spring 2022.

Validation through Market Development and Industry Engagement

A year of market development and trade shows deepened my conviction that CooliBlade is worth investing in. A highlight was our successful presence at PCIM Nürnberg, a leading power electronics trade show. Reception of CooliBlade’s innovative technology within the power electronics community was very encouraging. Throughout our first year in Germany, we optimized our market entry strategy based on feedback and exposure from trade shows and direct interactions.

Germany’s Industrial Growth Fuels Demand for CooliBlade solutions

Germany’s role as Europe’s industrial leader boosts the development of sectors relevant to CooliBlade technology. With its robust investments in renewable energy sources and increasing number of high-power EV charging stations, there’s a rising demand for power electronic components and modules. Traditional cooling solutions often fall short in meeting these growing needs without heightening costs. In contrast, CooliBlade’s AURORA and ULTIMA product lines, underpinned by patented NEOcore technology, handle up to 3.0 kW of thermal power per module without requiring expensive system add-ons. This proficiency has been well recognized by our German customers. Currently, promising discussions with large semiconductor corporations, the EV charging industry, and other industrial fields predict a bright future for CooliBlade in the DACH region.

Entering a new market is always challenging, especially when you’re a newcomer. Potential customers lean toward familiar solutions unless there is a compelling reason to seek better alternatives. However, after one-on-one discussions with business managers and technical experts, CooliBlade advantages quickly become evident, often sparking further technical conversations or prototype development.  Our combination of performance and cost-effective manufacturing has been well-received. Strategic partnership talks with Germany-based companies have helped to consolidate our presence in Germany.

Future Directions – Expanding Presence and Customer Network

Our first year in Germany provided promising beginnings and crucial connections, but we believe we’ve only just scraped the surface. Becoming a well-known brand in the market requires further work. We’re systematically improving our presence and visibility in Germany and Europe through planned marketing activities, trade shows, and customer conversations. Positive feedback from current customers and the comparative superiority of our products over existing cooling solutions strengthens our confidence. As we broaden our customer and distribution network, we’re optimistic about CooliBlade’s prospects in the German market.
